其一是《TELKOMNIKA：电信、计算、电子与控制（ISSN: 1693-6930）》（TELKOMNIKA: Telecommunication, Computing, Electronics and Control (ISSN: 1693-6930)）。Compendex和Scopus自2011年起审查、选取并收录该期刊。我们姑且称其为期刊A。期刊A是我们计划收录的唯一Telkomnika期刊。
另一份期刊是《TELKOMNIKA：印度尼西亚电子工程期刊（ISSN: 2302-4046, e-ISSN: 2087-278X）》（TELKOMNIKA: Indonesian Journal of Electrical Engineering (ISSN: 2302-4046, e-ISSN: 2087-278X)）。Scopus及Compendex均从未对该期刊进行过评估或选择收录。我们将其称为期刊B。
2012年续订季，期刊A在爱思唯尔资源管理系统中的ISSN被无意间变更为期刊B的ISSN。爱思唯尔一开始没有发现这个错误，继续在2012和2013年的Compendex和Compendex资源列表中收录错误的Telkomnika期刊内容。

Compendex的情况则复杂得多。中国作者因为该期刊被收录于Compendex资源列表而向该期刊投稿（按照“作者付费”模式发表）。因此，删除记录将会在中国作者社区内引起强烈反响。

Thank you for your email regarding TELKOMNIKA: Indonesian Journal of Electrical Engineering(ISSN: 2302-4046, e-ISSN: 2087-278X), and for your patience as we investigated the root cause of the issue.
Please be assured that we acknowledge the concerns of authors whose TELKOMNIKA: Indonesian Journal of Electrical Engineering (ISSN: 2302-4046, e-ISSN: 2087-278X) papers were indexed in Compendex, and then later removed from the database. While the circumstances surrounding this situation are complex, unfortunate, and unusual, they occurred fully without intent or malice; errors of any type can occur. We always take errors seriously and endeavor to resolve them appropriately, in due course.
In support of Chinese authors’ in their use of Compendex, and as a good-faith gesture, Elsevier has decided to restore the records for the affected years of 2012 and 2013. Before the end of March 2014, 1,274 records from TELKOMNIKA: Indonesian Journal of Electrical Engineering(ISSN: 2302-4046, e-ISSN: 2087-278X), will be restored in Compendex. Moving forward, Compendex will not cover this journal in 2014, or at any point thereafter. Only the records for the years 2012 and 2013 will continue to be available. TELKOMNIKA: Indonesian Journal of Electrical Engineering (ISSN: 2302-4046, e-ISSN: 2087-278X) will not be listed on the Compendex Source List.

MORE BACKGROUND
There are two Indonesian journals, both from the same publisher and with the same main title but with different ISSNs and subtitles.
One is TELKOMNIKA: Telecommunication, Computing, Electronics and Control (ISSN: 1693-6930). This title was reviewed and selected for coverage in both Compendex and Scopus starting in 2011 and onward. Let’s call this Journal A. This is the only Telkomnika journal we intended to cover.
The second is TELKOMNIKA: Indonesian Journal of Electrical Engineering (ISSN: 2302-4046, e-ISSN: 2087-278X). This title was never evaluated nor selected for coverage by either Scopus or Compendex. We’ll call this Journal B.
During the 2012 renewal season, the ISSNs for Journal A in Elsevier’s Source Management System were inadvertently changed to the ISSNs for JOURNAL B. The error initially went unnoticed and Elsevier proceeded to capture data for the wrong Telkomnika journal both in Compendex and in the Compendex Source List for 2012 and 2013.
Late in 2013, Elsevier’s Operations team uncovered the error and initiated a mass deletion of Journal B records from Scopus and Compendex. Thereafter we began to see inquiries from Chinese authors trying to find out why their records had been deleted. Given the number of records involved, it took us considerable time to unravel the story about what had happened.
What’s happening for Scopus?
Once the situation was understood, however, Scopus took swift action to remove all the records for Journal B. The title was then submitted for a fast-track review in the Scopus title evaluation platform and by the engineering Subject Chair. Upon review completion, Journal B was ultimately rejected for inclusion in Scopus. The publisher has been notified of the decision and informed that Journal B can reapply after 7 July 2015.
What’s happening for Compendex?
For Compendex, it is much more complicated. Authors in China submitted papers to this journal (published as an “author pays” model) because the journal was listed on the Compendex Source List. The removal of the records understandably caused a high degree of concern among the Chinese author community.
